The sun is out and it’s a glorious day in East Texas! It’s cool, with a breeze, sunny and mild. It’s one of those days I’ll have to monitor my garden time carefully so I don’t end up in traction.
I had a great Mother’s Day! I got to have lunch with *2nd family, and then, in the afternoon, Meghan was off and we got to hangout together. There was a lot of laughing and a few great presents! I am completely blessed!
The Parsnip got me a new garden stool/cart that I absolutely adore. I can just roll down the rows picking weeds now. The garden doesn’t know what hit it. Meghan and Ryan got me a cute coffee cup with some goodies in it, and Meghan treated me to a Chinese buffet. Yum! The cup is so cute. In case it’s hard to read, it says, “Old Gardeners never die, they just throw in the trowel! = )
2nd family got me some beautiful pink Vinca to fill in some bare spots in the flowerbed. So pretty!
I had a really great day! I hope you all did as well.
In the garden…
The Zinnias are going crazy, every stem has a blossom. The corn is growing beautifully, the squash as well. The beans are not as happy, I’m not sure what their deal is right now. I have some I held back in reserve, so I’ll replace the obstinate ones later in the week if they don’t shape up.
*2nd Family is what we call it when it’s just Mom, Dad, Jonathan and Patrick. Because of the age difference between my kids, a thirteen year span between Ryan and Patrick, it very much feels like we have two families. Increasingly, Ryan and Meghan are off making their own lives now, which is a good thing. 2nd Family is much more mellow than family was, I don’t really think it’s better or worse, it’s just different.
I hope you have a very paisley Monday!~KeriAnne
